A Shameless Song Named Surphanakha

I am
A shameless song
Brazen and audacious
Impudent and immoral
Sometimes cloaked in shame
I am yours and hers, always.

A woman, is not to lust or love,
But then I did.
In that moment of azure hue
Standing alone
Under the star studded sky
In the wilderness of wanton dreams
Abandoning the cloak of shame
Unashamed of the act
I pursued a man,
And another one too
To get my share of purple bruises
For having strayed
Off the beaten track.
Cut in the middle
I never could explore
That much talked about love.

There was none to tell me then…
That a man's love is Love
And a woman's…is Lust.

I was born thus
A shameless song,
A woman in love, feared,
A witch bizarre, A she-demon,
A beautiful poison-lady,
A shield of shame that people wear,
A Surphanakha,
Finding my chopped identity
In a wrecked body and a fearless mind.
