A Silent Prayer Poem by Kavya .

A Silent Prayer

Rating: 5.0

I feel am tied with chains
I suffer everyday, my body pains,
Am tired of doing the hospital rounds
Undergoing various tests or scan ultrasound,
My days starts and ends with ache
When visitors flock, I give a smile fake,
Gone are my happy and trouble free days
Now anxiously through the window pane I gaze,
I want to walk, I want to run
I wish I could have had some more fun,
Though my earlier days were not stress free
I was healthy and happy being a busy bee,
My life now seem worthless
I neither live nor die and lay here restless,
Oh Lord! please do not trouble me more
Give me one more chance to enjoy life to the core,
Once let the storm inside my heart calm
You can then happily wrap me around your arm.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This is the tale of a person I know closely who is suffering from a deadly disease. I can feel the pain he goes through everyday and I cant see him in pain. I just pray to God to give him happy and pain free days and may he lead a normal life. Amen.

There are many who suffer like this! When we are healthy, we never think of the blessings of a sound body! I too join you in this ardent prayer....Kavya! Great expression of compassion and a sweet poem!

Miseries of a man having deadly disease are depicted well through your verses in this poem....Agonies suffered by him can be seen in your words....With out seeing him one can visualise the pathetic condition of the sufferer because of your skill in narration.....Well done Kavya....10/10! ! !
