Could I ever have the happiness
of those who cannot walk
having a first step even if small?
Could I ever have the happiness
of those unsighted feeling
shadows for the first time?
Could I have the happiness
of music heard by one who
hear no sound?
Could I have the happiness
of the hungry parent
able to feed a child?
Could I have the happiness
of ones who after hard falls
finds no more holes?
....................................................................
Have we forgotten
how to appreciate what we have,
the small things,
have we forgotten our priorities?
..Do we really need to gain a big loss
for the chance to touch happiness?
What
IS
Happiness? ?
Happiness lies in the smallest and ordinary things, discover that. Excellent poem, dear poetess! Deep life´s philosophy herein. Thank you so much for making us awake to start appreciate and be happy with the smallest things we already have and with what we have all the time. Highest appreciations from pp.
absolutely beautiful poem.. thanks..you have given real some thing to read and feel happy about....
You have great concepts... sends a kind of touch to make our heart feel the essence of life Very nice and fruitful...You have a soft heart....
I think this poems poses very important questions. Too many times we are unhappy about small things while failing to appreciate the real big things such as having intact eye sight, being able to walk and so on. Many thanks, Elena for this wonderful poem full of wisdom.
I love it..yeah i agree with what you said and your description tells so right! We still have happiness even we blind, deaf, disable as the happiness centered in heart...heart and heart in the beat of acceptance of fate and healing wound ability power..all centered in heart only in heart, if the heart broken it must be healed or the happiness hardly to stay still...Happiness come when we accept anything, with open heart..and turn what people say hard and hurt to be warm and soft...It centered in heart so only our hearts have the answer! _Unwritten Soul

Scientifically, happiness is a chemical reaction in the brain, or a surge of specific hormones. Philosophically, happiness is completely subjective. I suppose to each individual it is different, but your happiness is as great as my happiness, or that of any other. It is impossible to measure emotion, it is meant to be felt, I think, rather than understood.
