Oh, how lovely is a tree
so much taller, than you or me.
Spreading out it's branches day and night
for tired birds, from their flight.
Where would we be without a tree?
We wouldn't have much, would we?

Question: Did I show any literary promise?
Why yes, Cheryl, I think you DID show promise. I remember my first poem about Daffodils and I don't think I want to add it to my collection. But, it is in us, isn't it, from a young age? Keep writing and sharing. Best Wishes, Marilyn
Madam Cheryl Lynn! I do not believe that you have written the poem in the age of eight. And if you did it then you are a born poet. Amazing. Really. Happy to see you from Aries class.
Pregnant with the promise that was not aborted.
Nice poem, tree is a symbol of shelter our role in the world must be like the role of a tree, it is the only way we can save humanity from the scorching heat. Please read my poem 'On The Tree'. Love and respects Muhammad Shanazar
You are great! You indeed show your poetic ability and talents at this tender age!

Well done! A lovely poem indeed, especially when penned by one so young. I do think the literary talent shows through. (But then, I am regularly amazed at the natural talent of many young poets on this site) Thanks for sharing. Richard
