A War For Diamond Poem by Bireswar Halder

A War For Diamond

A sharp knife stabs frequently
Body fails to resist and falls suddenly
Severe scuffling
Blood oozes out profusely.
Knife pierces inside
Unbearable pains
And hews out heart from the body
Body sees its own heart jumping on dust
What a tragedy
Body gets mopped off slowly
Heart cut into pieces
And precious diamond hidden inside
Comes out suddenly
The rays of diamond glitter
Blood shines rapidly
Knife bursts into laughter
As a mark of winning
And runs away.
Body and heart shout jointly
Finally both start weeping loudly, helplessly,
'Don't take away this precious diamond
It`s not for a butcher
You can't assay it
It's made only for a genius'
The knife leaves with beautiful diamond
With a chuckle in return.
Precious diamond looted
The war of body and heart
Ends in deep sleep forever.
