'Age Is But A Number ' Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

'Age Is But A Number '

‘Age is but a number'
Is what they all say,
But, how big a number
Are you today?

When as a child
I wanted older to be,
But as each year passes,
How old will you think I be?

When I am in my Prime,
Will you still want me?
Or, when I am ‘over the hill'
Will my age matter to thee?

Age is but a number,
Be it big or small,
One cannot disguise it,
Or hide it from one and all.
