Ah, Freedom Poem by Rick Elpers

Ah, Freedom

To be available
for  no one to answer to
except god
Share not a moment of discovery
nor delight nor pain
Comfort quietly resting
With the invisible
perhaps to fill up time
Actively seeking a fantasy of
partnership that no one can fill
For perfection exists only in the
mind where emptiness is the friend
Where friends cannot abide
a soul embarked upon freedom
Jealousy hatred envy all partake
in the fear of freedom
Not recognizing that it also
included loneliness deep
foreboding giving way to a lie
in the heart portraying serenity
