All Those Moments (For Nathan) Poem by Katy Rachel

It’s a cool breeze,
A long walk,
Every time we speak,
Every time you talk.
Every word you say
Only makes me want you more,
Makes me want to hold you tight,
That’s for sure.
I remember that night
Like it was the day before last,
When the world slowed down.
Every moment that passed
Only got better.

I looked into your eyes,
You looked into mine.
It took me by surprise
That very first time
When you took my hand,
Told me you loved me.
Darkness all around,
The stars above me.
I thought, “Man,
I wanna hold onto this, ”
As you leaned in
To give me a tender kiss
That was amazingly sweet.

From that moment on,
I knew it was meant to be.
I now knew how it felt
To be weightless and free.
And tonight I’ll dream
Of a shirt that smells like you.
And in the morning
All I’ll want to do
Is be in your arms,
Us standing there.
It’s raining outside,
But we couldn’t care.
Rain won’t stop us.

You’ve shown me the world,
Everything beautiful and great.
And when I look at you, all I think is,
“I love you Nate! ”
It’s hard to believe
I can love this much.
But oh, I believe it
With just one touch.
In my eyes,
You are so strong.
You help me up
When everything’s gone wrong.
And I love it.

You mean the world to me
But I know it’s true
That I can’t always give
What I want to give to you.
So I hope you’ll see,
I hope you’ll understand
That this love amazes me,
As I take your hand.
As I look into your eyes,
Trying to see into you,
I hope you can read mine
Because they’re saying one thing:
“I LOVE YOU.”
