Am I In Love?
How can I control this pace?
My heart is always at race
You can never know the truth
Even if you stare at my face
Till the light is smiling bright
There is neither fright nor flight
The moment night walks and blankets
Peace and rest is not in sight
A queer passion engulfs all
My heart – my being- my call
I guess it is a strange pain
With speaking agony no tears fall
The emotions come out with a halt
Fearing the act to be deemed a fault
I had thought baring my heart open
But you may take this with a pinch of salt
Many a times I felt a soft tug
This desire to get a tight hug
Many of my friends explained me thus
Despite long ignore, I am in love.

yes, you are in love...love is a feeling only...the tight hug may not be there......but how does it matter? nice summary by you....10 marks for discovering the common syndrome..
Soumita, despite aversion, as an expression, is just unbecoming of a love poem. Do you really mean it? You could have said- despite myself...Anyway, I enjoyed the 'strange pain' rhythmically recorded in the lines. Wish you all the best
