An Act Of God Poem by Xelam Kan™

An Act Of God

Like a shadow in the dark
do not follow me, O easeful death!
Come, hold me closed
in your white wings.
would it be an act of god
if i kiss thy coldest lips?

A cabaret in the backstage
is not much scandalous
as a razor sharp Striper
of the weekend nights. So am i,
In frosty years of life
tried to read a blueprint
of fate, designed in haste.

And it
revealed unto me
a secret, has never been told...

[sam harris? is he related to richard harris, the singer? ] perhaps instead of Striper, you mean Stripper? ? i'd rather watch a stripper work any day rather than to watch a striper! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! and revealed........typo? who said spellilng is easy! ? esp. for non-native speakers! ! ! I don’t recall ever hearing the word “easeful”, but I like it! especially as it is used with death. “ease•ful ˈēzfəl/ adjective literary adjective: easeful 1. providing or offering comfort or peace. life was easeful at that time “ - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - favorite lines: “Like a shadow in the dark do not follow me, O easeful death! ” ……………. I especially like “like a shadow in the dark”. I would not think of Death as having ‘white wings’, but why not? enough with stereotypes! ! “In frosty years of life tried to read a blueprint of fate, designed in haste.” ……………. might you want “I’ve” in front of “tried”? ? :) yes, Yes, YES! WHAT IS THE SECRET? ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! PLEASE SHARE IT WITH US! bri :) p.s. I will enter this in my/our October ‘showcase for PH poets, but I’ll wait a while in case you wish to make any changes. also, the title on your poem’s page is slightly different than the way you spelled it out for me in your message. :)

To me, it has been a great pleasure to read this poem involving an encounter with death. Lovely words coupled with a new idiom and expression. Thanks.
