An Extraordinary Father Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

An Extraordinary Father

Rating: 5.0

You have been an extraordinary father.
You always proudly held my baby hand
and helped soothe away many pains.
You encouraged me to walk and to stand.

You always were aware of my needs and want
and helped me erase my childish fears.
You supported me when things went wrong
and often wiped away many of my tears.

You catered and walked with me each day
when life was difficult and long.
You instilled an everlasting courage in me,
teaching me the difference between right and wrong.

Your fatherly advice and guidance
instilled moral strength to my heart,
never faltering, always standing near by,
faithfully doing your fatherly part.

Now that I have older grown,
I realize that you were the best friend I had.
You'll never know what you have ment to me,
I can only respectfully say...' Thank you, Dad.'
