As children -
we didn't know why it was
but Mom's favorite answer
was...'Because! '
And if you asked her why to THAT
the second part, you know
always seemed to be
'Because I said SO! '
Chuck, if you and Mark Twain had been able to know one another, you'd be inseparable. I love your humorous yet wise views on life. Calling this Motherly Knowledge was very cute. Take care, Beth
As a mom, I have answered many question with because I said so! The exact translation is just do It, I don't have a reason and I don't need one! ' Great poem
Hahaha! i thought it was just my mum said that.... must of been a world wide secret gang....bravo cheers karen
I don’t know why, but Mother knows best—always. A great piece. Very funny, and, of course, very true.
A mother is a complex thing and has such funny notions like saying yes when she mean no and fanning flamed emotions. I used to ask my own ma ma when and who and why and always come her very clever cute and curt reply Why is a difficult question. Ruthy good poem Chuck
A delightful dip into 'mother knows best'. I wonder why my own mothering was never so unequivocal. I guess it was the seventies and all that long hair. Great poem. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

You've certainly said a lot in two short verses, and many will agree that most mothers have had this exact conversation with them countless times. Good job, Chuck! Did you run this one by your mother yet? haha xoxo, Janet
