AND WHEN I HEAR HER NAME by John Hawkes
And when I hear her name, my heart begins to race,
My hair stands on end, blood rushes to my face,
My breath begins to quiver, my hands begin to shake,
My voice goes all funny, the world begins to quake,
The stars begin to fall, the moon starts to spin,
the night becomes day, but the air becomes thin,
The earth starts turning backwards, the rocks and stones erode,
everything black turns white, and the universe explodes,
And when I hear her name, the stormy sky's turn blue,
And her name is Shannon, and all these words are true.
