Apples And Oranges Poem by Noemi Lee

Apples And Oranges

I will never understand a person
Who buys apples
And are mad that the apples don't
Provide orange juice!
Does that sound strange to you?
I have no idea why -
Parents do It all the time.
They yell, scream, accuse, lie and neglect
Somehow expecting to produce super confident leaders of tomorrow.
They are appalled when their children act
Just as they do.
They are appalled when the little people entrusted to them
Behave exactly as they have been taught to.
They are furious that in fact
Their children are such good students.
