April's Song - Poem by Sonya Florentino

(with thanks to Sandra Fowler, for reminding me of the beautiful month of April)

I am the beginning
I am the start
I am the awakening
I am the spark

I am the seed
I am the urge
I am the promise
of rebirth

I am the journey
Without end
I am the circle
Once again

I am peace
After the storm
I am warmth
After the cold

I am the flower
Under the snow
I am the green
After the thaw

I am Spring

I am Hope

I am earth’s Eternal Song
Come April...

I'm coming back home

Your April is our September, but the sentiment is the same. And your poem is bursting with joyful. It reads like the lyrics of a song and is pitched in the key of D major I think. The same key Handel used for the Halleluja Chorus. Your dedication to Sandra Fowler was lovely to read too. She certainly has a wonderful rapport with the seasons and is one of the finest poets on this site. Love, Allie ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ (Report) Reply

A glorious nature poem of April. Each month has its beauty and it seems your April is awakening and beautiful. 10 Karin Anderson (Report) Reply

So long as the world lasts, April will never fail to come again.
    Bittersweet...a lovely write.
