Bossy & Butter Man

when i was just
a little boy
i learned to
point my finger
at 2 imaginary characters.
---
'Bossy made me do it! '
'Butter Man told me to! '
---
created for me
by the devil himself.
to lead me into
temptation.
building
a bridge to
debauchery
with pharisaical
stones.
bedevilling me, forever.
allowing me to cross
with ease
the shallow pond
of innocense.

Poem of the Day

poet Sara Teasdale

I thought of you and how you love this beauty,
And walking up the long beach all alone
I heard the waves breaking in measured thunder
As you and I once heard their monotone.
