Boy From Maine Poem by A Starkey

Boy From Maine

Rating: 5.0

Played me from the very start
made me shed a tear
your phone wasn't broke
you didn't miss me

I was never much to you
Don't think to use the picture against me
I'll make you life a hell

Knew just what to say
Stayed long enough to not get attached
You will say I'm crazy
But I've heard that one before

You made me think less of myself
With all your shadiness

Punched my pillow till I cried
remembering what you said
how dumb I was, how naive
thought you were more than that

But five whole times I saw your face
and we were never much
But still im so hung up

I'm guilty of my urges,
to hold someone so close
But you lied and failed to speak
I think those are worse mistakes

So goodbye
I'm done for now
So much for going out on a limb
disregarding my previous motives
to remain solo till I leave

One thing I've learned
Watch out, all girls, beware
don't cross borders that don't feel like home
don't be tricked by all the charm and watch out
for young boys living in Maine
