working in fire burning tropical heat
baking outdoors is no treat no easy feat
daily grind constant heat will soul defeat
hot in cruel fierce burning overhead sun
but cool beneath a green tree shade breeze
slight movements in time a few steps
a small walk in simple distance
can change a frying sun burn heat
into calm paradise soothing shade
differences social class to slave manifest
plantation sugar cane owner to overseers
to horrific hell enduring owned slaves
