Can You Listen To My Cry? Poem by Amitava Sur

Can You Listen To My Cry?

Rating: 2.5

Still I aspire to live in this earth
But not with this burning pain
Of the loss of my love.

I cry out with tears to flush out my pains
Desperately I try to get rid of them.
So much of sorrows and grief, accumulated in,
My pitcher is full, cannot contain any more

I’m so undone so restless I am
I have no control on the poor myself.

Kick me hit me and pain me a ton
To bring me back to full of my sense.

Pull by my ears and pull me with a jerk
To bring me out of my grieves’ dark den.

Hey – you all, can you listen to my cry
Still I aspire to live in this earth.

Pull me out of my grieves’ dark den
Bring me back to full of my sense.

I have listened to your cry, Amitava, it is heart breaking. In spite of grief's sorrow, you still want to live on this earth. Your poem resonates with your emptiness and still you want to continue being here, a hope in your heart to hold on. Tender, raw emotion touches the heart. Wonderful poem, expressing your sorrow.
