Charade By Moonlight

Rating: 5.0

Clouds pass over face of moon
a kaleidoscope of patterns.
Never same clouds
never remain clouds
urge impelled exerted
always gliding on.
Never stop here long
before thrust forward gone.

Some pause momentarily
in their mystic flight.
I’ve seen this pondered
by day through night.
I’ve seen the moon hide
her ghostly pale
haughty haunting face
in veils of yellow green.

Even charades of orange violet
countless were redeeming hues of red.
I’ve seen I’ve seen
what have I seen moon?
I live in twilight
for shadow.
Has passed over
my soul.

Death circles
close overhead.
Discerned are signs
meaning
written in destiny
ascribed from forgotten lore.
I’m ill I’m sick I live
I live on feebly.

Hoping to pass on
a little a little a little I know.
Before it’s too late
so a fraction attained may survive.
I’m ill I’m sick I know
time is near terminated end.
Clinging clinging hold holdout
expending reservoir residue.

Last dregs precious energy gone.
Consumed finally hold hold hold.
Retention retain retain strain strain.
Draw on moonlight wax moonlight
Draw Draw Strain Strain Pain.
Can’t Can’t Inhuman Pain Pain.
Draw on moonlight wax on moonlight
heartbeat heartbeat moonbeat.

Moon seek seek.
Draw on moonlight wax on moonlight.
Shadows falls over face of moon.
Draw on power of night
change change oblivion entropy
threatens fight fight.
Cosmic energy flows flows flows
draw on draw on hold tight.

Hold close hold hold tight.
Cosmic energy flows flows

Secret of all organic life

Cosmic kinetic forces imparting motion.

“And the will therein lieth,
which dieth not.
Who knoweth the mysteries
of the will, with its vigour?
For God is but a great will
pervading all things
by nature of its intentness.
Man doth not yield
him to the angels,
not unto death utterly,
save only through the weakness
of his feeble will.” – Joseph Glanvill.

Wait Wait control dominate.
Remember mission.
Something must remain.
Do I live? Do I live? I know not.

I know I know I feel
I feel I think I live!
Still yet I breathe.
I breathe I triumph.

Was ill. Was sick.
But it’s nothing.
Nothing a bullet
wouldn’t cure.

Nothing a bullet
wouldn’t terminate.

In these last.
Fleeting moments.

Still signifying.

Vulnerability.

Blink.

Three strand language
picture imaging confirmed.

Edgar Allan Poe wrote his story ‘Ligeia’ using the above quoted lines supposedly written by Joseph Glanvill as the introduction. Poe wrote the intent of his story ‘Ligeia’ around the implications of these lines. I rearranged the structure of Glanvill’s lines and put it into a modern language context variant. As a tribute to Edgar Allan Poe, when writing this modernized macabre on lines close to the original theme, with a space conquest twist.
