Child's Play Poem by Vanessa Kingsley

Child's Play

He loves me
He loves me not
I hope that isn't so.
He loved me
when the days were hot
I remember watching him go
I love him
I love him not
My heart knows how it feels
It knows the love
It knows the nots
It knows if it is real
Ring around the little games
A pocket full of songs
Ring around the happy years
A pocket full of laughs
Flowers and warm grasses; remember that clear blue sky?
Rememeber how we fell and tumbled our way through the times
Candy and stories to frighten our nights
We fell into each other, laughing with all our might
I remember him
Does he remember me?
A best friend whom I knew was always there for me
I miss him
Does he miss me
I guess I'm still hoping for childish things
I loved him
He loved me
Together we cried and said comforting things.
He loved me
And I loved him
But now that I think; our love was dim.
So I'll sit here and smile
Writing his name
Remembering when we had our Child's Play
