I grew up in a culture
that loved Christmas!
It was felt in the air
by the kids and adults
When the big morning came
we could hardly contain
ourselves!
We were even real polite
to our hated sibs
We always got what we wanted
and knew we were going to
be well taken care of
5AM Dec.25, oh my
the hearts were pounding!
we dumped those stockings
and played and ate
and bounced around like
popcorn
I decided to not let
Christmas morning end
EVER
so each day I race down the stairs
say HI to any hearing creature
within miles
eat with zest
get ready,
drive politely,
help old ladies,
work with a huge smile
and treat people like santa's family
then I get home
and tear open a tv dinner
like my favorite Christmas present
share it, eat popcorn, give sincere
verbal gifts to lots of people
and go to bed
dreaming of the morrow's sugar plums! ! ! !
Yes! ! ! ! and figgy pudding! ! ! ! !
Everyday Christmas! ! ! !
Why not!
It works for me!
Mr. Glee
the guy the neighbors
talk about...
now, let's eat like 20
sugar cookies!
Love the concept here- - - -especially the part about eating the 20 sugar cookies. Sorry, as a former English teacher, I must point out that in line eleven you meant to say KNEW instead of NEW. An easy fix- - -just add a K.
