Christmas Tapestry Poem by Walterrean Salley

Christmas Tapestry

Sending glad tidings and holiday cheer,
Spreading the news that Christmas is near.
Hustling and bustling and shopping and such,
Decorating with a delicate touch.

Holly, and redbirds, and downy snowdrifts.
The exchange of Christmas cards and gifts.
The familiar carols of long ago
Still echoing all about- to and fro.

Enjoying Charlie and the Peanuts Gang
As tinsel, garland, and ornaments hang.
Kids sledding ‘long the snow-covered slope.
The love and desire for peace, joy and hope.

All the best wishes for a world of peace
To warm the heart with a cheery release.
Ah, what a picture that Christmas oft' brings
With sparkling mem'ries that so often ring.
