Cities And Towns Poem by Nick krakana

Cities And Towns

Rating: 5.0

Cities and towns
Have an interesting feel
Each..... a different appeal

Hamilton.... a seasoned old fighter
With a lifetime of rounds
Like the mill's in her town
Testing real strength......pound for pound

Timmins... a city founded on gold
Of greed... and the men it ruled
The common man who worked her drifts
His key concern... was his wife and kids

London... has an easy way
Filled with young minds
Searching each day
Drunk... on new ways

Then along comes Ottawa...
Squirming... to be free
Struggles inside unbalanced energy

Halifax... down by the sea
They say... is a place to be
Were folks have time for you and me

The northern towns
I have wondered free
Surrounded...by a sea of trees
Gives way... to a relaxed ease

Northerners..... don't really complain
They know... their life's aim
Fish when you can.... hunt in the fall
Work a little...... to pay for it all
