Come Whatever May- A Tale Of Friendship Poem by Abhinaba Majumdar

Come Whatever May- A Tale Of Friendship

Now it's time for parting of our ways,
We came so far together
That now it seems hard to give away;
We were blessed my friends,
Blessed with the boon of togetherness, yesterday
But now we must turn our heads
And look to the future, come whatever may!

We'd shared many a dream,
However strange that may seem;
We were meant to fly high,
Even with broken wings;
Those warnings the winds brought
Didn't suit our ears,
We were lucky to find a smile,
Even in times of tears,
The drought, the storm, the frost
So many did cross our way
But we've always fought our battles to win,
So come whatever may!

The fables we loved to hear,
When we were younger boys,
Poor Rudolf, the red-nosed reindeer
On which Santa promised us toys;
Those King Arthurs and Uncle Podgers
Who always brought us joy,
Have long since left our party
In this grown-up mindless toil;
But don't forget what they taught us folks-
They taught us to seek our ways
Through many worldly tussles,
Come whatever may!

So now that we're leaving each other
It's not good-bye after all,
We promise to come back together
Whenever we hear the call;
We'll return to relive our memories
And drink from the fountain of youth
We'll promise again like the heroes did,
We'll share the inner truth.

And then one day,
When we're about to LEAVE
We'll pledge, as friends to stay
Forever and ever and for ever more
No death could keep us away;
With God on our side,
Come..................... whatever may! !

Dramatic beginning, as if it's the mid part of their conversation.Marvelous.
