Conditional Togetherness Poem by Manasi Agarwal

Conditional Togetherness

They say we humans can't live alone
We need someone to pull us out of doom
But did someone gesture a silent promise of keeping close
Unconditionally, in a rather unsung way?

We are all entangled in the lines on our hands
Trying to change or make sense of what lies in store
In the hustle bustle of ambitions and disappointments
Is there an intention to build, give and restore?

It all seems like a ritual,
To ensure we are toeing the line
Togetherness is so conditional
A mountain no one wants to climb
Our shadow too leaves us
When darkness grows and looms
Who is there to wipe the tears
When the heart is filled with gloom
