My Past: Now And Forever Poem by Manasi Agarwal

My Past: Now And Forever

Walking on a dark dingy street
I heard footsteps
Tuck, tuck, tuck
Startled, I looked back
Only to find darkness all around
Mind games, I chuckled

Brushing aside the thought
I walked again
And there the sound was
Growing louder and louder
Till I screamed “who are you”
“You past” came the reply

Remember the struggles?
Not quite I believe
As you are smiling now, despite all the disbelief
So am I here to walk by your side
To remind you not to put me aside

I can see the sunshine now, I can sense hope
I know the skies are with me
To see me grow and rejoice
To pick life up, piece by piece
Why now, are you destroying my peace

Where do I go then
What’s my path
How do I find space
Your life is all I have

You are in my heart
Shall always remain
You remind me that days always change
I am not letting go
Just moving ahead
Be with me, in the journey
To see the future, together
