When heaven's gate opens
And hundreds of angels sing
While watching leaving my corpse
And in wind I see myself...
Sacrifices end...I cry no more
Smiles on my lips shine again
Like a star, it glows...like a sun, it glares
My life ends...infinite glee born…
Who will question what life is?
Or ask what death is?
as we all know
It comes anytime
it comes with no exact date...
Time to be born and died. When we are here in this world, make it best of your life. Nice poem. Well penned. Enjoyed reading it
A nice take on death - but as Surya Surya says there is no hurry as far as you are concerned...good write all the same.
This is a well expressed and touching poem on death, Lady Grace. In it, you touch upon the one certain aspect of death: it's uncertainty. Rarely does a person know when or how their own death will come. Just this morning a young woman jogger, wearing earphones for her MP3 player, was killed when a large limb fell off and tree and down on her as she ran by. Police on the scene said they didn't think she heard it falling at all because the MP3 was still playing. It was just a freak accident, they said. Thank you for writing this impressive poem. Carl.
very nice poem on such an important topic....its may be a byproduct of an episode...we all have moments of despair... but your poem i liked very much...inspite of its inherent direness it is easy on the nerves and portrays death in a very natural and with a strangely enamoured twist i found this comment very inetersting Ted M (8/5/2009 11: 25: 00 PM) Life is like a food product with an expiry date, till then it may be sweet, sour, delicious depending on us. We have to realise and then make the most of it. Thanks nice write.............. cheers and ten
This is a nice piece of writing. Shows a more lighter way of approaching the topic of Death. The first two lines of Stanza 1 are so Tranquil and Heavenly ('When heaven's gate opens // And hundreds of angels sing'): yet, this is quickly juxtaposed by Lines 3 and 4 ('While watching leaving my corpse // And in wind I see myself...') which give an eerie feel to the poem. I love Stanza 2. The powerful figurative language and very smooth flow, makes this Stanza stick to the reader's mind after they have read this poem. (Well, it did for me) The Final Stanza opens up with powerful Rhetorical Questions. The very same questions that, I am pretty sure, everyone has asked at least once in their lifetime. The last three lines of this Stanza, help remind the Reader that Death is unpredictable. But also, in my own personal opinion, these lines are didactic in a way. They pass on a message to the Reader that clearly states, to live life to the full; before it is taken away from us. (That was the message I gained from those lines) In conclusion, a brilliant poem and read. Keep up the great work. PS: Sorry for my Shoddy critique.
