Death 'Till Dawn (The Ascension Of Ra) Poem by Marcus McKinley

Death 'Till Dawn (The Ascension Of Ra)

Piercing the equatorial edge

Emptiness, a love no more
Darkness eyes, an endless void
Contemplating nothing more
Lifeless, without you by my side

One last stop before home I head

Crossing the arc
Of the celestial equator
Deaths door, is where I stand
Invitation clinched tight in hand
Waiting for Dawn to take me in
And wash away my mortal sin

Life is death postponed, she said
One last shot before home I head

Dawn she greets me at the door
Refreshed, from her sleeping bliss
Death, once more she has atoned
With this shot I will not miss

Life is death postponed, she said
Daylight shines, now dawn is dead
No more shots so home I head

Until the ecliptic darkness comes
Upon the vernal equinox
