Devil And The Damned Poem by Dave Alan Walker

Devil And The Damned

Rating: 4.8

I hear
The angels and the wizards
Fighting the devil
and the damned

They speak in whispers
So as not to scare
The human kind

I asked them once
Why could I hear
The things
That they did say
Am I dead
Or am I alive

They said
Your not dead
Your alive
It's in your head
The visions of our lives

It's just
Your past lives
Watching over you

Making sure
The devil
And the damned
Never hurt you

Very interesting metaphors. I like the vague word play here, nice touch. Beautiful work, as always.

I love the last two stanza's, they really makes this poem. The poem is very good by ti's selve, but the lst two lines make it more than epic

Amazing..though i had to read twice to understand it. So true, we have to fight with our own evil thoughts to bring good in ourselves and others for the benefit of mankind. Great write. Please do read my poems 'Never love in life' & 'I love you' and write your comments.

Poe wrote somewhere about the denizens that 'laugh but do not smile.' This reminds me of Poe, and that is no put-down. Good stuff; great for halloween.
