Divided By A Word Poem by Joanne Kearsey

Divided By A Word

Lines used from another
persons mouth
Ideas from another's
mind
Lies from another
persons deceit
Eventually this leads to
our own subtle defeat
New promises made
but cannot be kept
Plans taken from
your vulnerability
What doesn't kill us
makes our will grow stronger
Our bodies may fade
into the background
But will forever linger here
Biased rituals
divide our hearts
Torn into two
by your indecisiveness
The little devil smile
lit up your green eyes
We are no longer strangers
but we still don't have a clue.
