Do I Write Loud Enough Poem by Cynthia Buhain-baello

Do I Write Loud Enough

Hey, do I write loud enough for them to hear?
Oh yes, I think so, because they've responded with a threat!
Would they want me to shut up and cower in fear
Dig a hole in my backyard or hide under my bed?

Did I write loud and clear and stated the truth
That they kill for no reason and breathe in offense?
They find all things wrong in us because Hate's the root
They hate our clothes, our food, our music, it's nonsense!

They block Paris streets, ran over a Christmas market,
Pray five times a day but the biggest number on porn!
Wear those scarves and veils, look as pure as they get-
But leave behind their land, the places where they were born!

They hate the cultures of the countries where they get in
Seek to change it all into what they ran away from
Then they kill the citizens, in Nice and in Berlin!
Demands, protests, complaints - what have they become?
