Dotted Patterns Poem by Maitali Khanna

Dotted Patterns

Life's no dots, only patterns -
Points but points of views
Views but perspectives!
Rights, no wrongs, or
Only Wrongs, no rights;
No rights, no wrongs, in sooth -
Rights and Wrongs, all
But each mind - every mind
But a self indulgent insight!

Life's not just living, but -
What's Lived along with what's
Being lived; 'Being lived', an
Inevitable nexus to the remaining hours!
A dot in life,
Only to fade away into space,
A moment in life
Only to merge into eternity
Life's no dots, only patterns!

Kernelling to a hard self,
Core matured with ripened opinions
Defines the dots - the self indulgent insight!
Though life defies all imprisoned fringes,
Fringes captivate the squeezed self, and
Arrogance takes the center seat -
Strutting aside the mallowed malleability
Guaging life in dots, and
Judging perspectives with conceited impressions!

Dots being lived as space, moments
As disjoined tick-tock of petty thinking!
The space converged to points,
Perspectives to views,
Eternity to moments;
Self diverged into selves,
A pattern into varying strokes!
And Life into judgementalised compartments...
Life's not dots, only patterns!

Connecting dots, drawing missing lines
Is living, understanding, and expanding-
On the white sheet of infinitude
Dots of self assertion mere dusted speck
Patterning asserts meaning to points
Perspectives to views
Eternity to moments, and
Expansion to living!
Life's not dots, only patterns
