Dream For One Human Race Poem by Arun Maji

Dream For One Human Race

Rating: 5.0

I do mistake every day.

I do mistake every day because I do new things every day.
I do new things because I want to learn, I want to explore this infinitely beautiful universe. I am a student forever. And I want to stay that way until I die.

Mistake costs me a lot- my time, my resources, my peace of mind. Mistake often brings me tears.

But my tears don't last long. My unending spirit wipes my tears. My love for humanity and my love for this world give me hope to sustain. I fall but I stand up again. My heart aches but it's healed again. My soul cries but it's pacified again.

I don't give up. Though often I change path of my journey.
Today, I have done some reflection. I have found- probably, conflict is not my path. I feel pain if my action hurts others. Maybe silence and serenity are my path. I am more loving, kind and creative when I am silent and serene.

But often, it's so hard to stay silent. Children still die from hunger even when this world has no scarcity of food. This world has enough food for all, enough space for all, enough resources for all.
Yet why children starve to death? Why there is blood shed? Why so much of violence, mistrust, conflict and killings exist in this otherwise beautiful world?

I often wonder, if I stay silent; isn't it an act of selfishness? This very question often leads me to conflict with others. I believe no barriers. To me, we have one world, one religion, one race.

Human is born with no religion, no nationality, no race engraved in his heart. It's we the adults, who label a child Hindu, Muslim or Christian. It's we who label a child Indian, Australian or American.

I imagine a scenario, as if we are children of same mother. We all would have been brothers then. Isn't it? We would have played together, danced together, cried together. Mother earth is our common mother anyway. Then why can't I consider you as my own brother?
