(IT TOOK ME DAYS FOR ME TO FORMULATE THE TITLE)
(I HOPE BOTH TITLE AND CONTENT IS GOOD)
Earth used to be an immortal garden
Where the butterflies are everywhere seen.
But it was swarmed by locusts sent by men,
Now it’s a place you cannot imagine.
Through the riverbanks, waters used to flow
And air was given freely to fishes.
But things changed because maybe tomorrow
Dead fishes will be scattered in places.
Trees are being cut off for one’s business.
Nature is being damaged brutally.
A planet once filled of great resources
Is now kissing the future painfully.
Earth as we know it shall come to an end
If we will not make actions that are wise.
O let this planet count you as its friend,
Make it a picture you will not despise.

The earth pollutions taking place are brought in the poem very nicely in sharp and powerful words.

Yes more of us should be writing on this theme. I did a few also, one on 'Illegal logging' in Indonesia a few months back. More needed.
Love this poem very much... And Obed, I'm agree with the title, both the title and the content are very nice...

Good write. As long as man's only desire is to obtain wealth and power by any means possible, mother earth may have to destroy all of her children [life] and begin a brand new cycle by getting rid of all present life and begin brand new (plant life, animal life...she should think twice about human life as we know it) I understand this is a vey bleak picture of the future, but my conclusion is my opinion based on past history and the present.Keep writing, poets must keep speaking.
