Echo in deep breath of dark nights
Visits me in my eyes of your eyes' lights
Dawn is preparing for a blue blue sky
I am waiting for your morning voice to tell me why
You love me as yesterdays never die
As today's coming is a forever lie
Always enchanted by your beautiful art of word arrangement. You create imaginative, uniquely individual bouquets using the concepts of language symbolism. Like a true artist, you use the full range of sensory simulation- the texture, the color, the aura of your words so deftly and completely. It is a true gift. Thank you for sharing it with us.
A very beautiful love poem, Anne. I liked it. love me as yesterdays never die... every lover hopes so.
I like the movement of this poem: it begins in night and steadily unfolds in daylight. And that imagery of darkness fading and the light cast by a blue sky swelling in brilliance is an essential impact of your poem. It's the secondary theme which contains within its interplay of light and dark the main theme of the speaker's readiness for love. You express this with subtlety: you contrast past and future, with the past being the truth of love and the future uncertain, or as you put it, LOVE'S LIE. Only the time to come will reveal if love is certain and as genuine in the future as in the past. Your poems are never simplistic, Anne, you use language creatively and we, your happily engaged readers, have to THINK carefully to get your meaning.
When people are in love, they forget about time. I am so touched by your words dear Daniel, thank you!
