Elephants In A Tender Embrace... Poem by Jacques du Lumerie

Elephants In A Tender Embrace...

Elephants in a tender embrace
Thoughts about the wild hills
That overlook the sunny plains.

'What land! ' they say
'How beautiful it is
Now that the world of mankind
Has gone away forever
To live under the ground
Afraid of the white sky! '

The elephants roam the world of land
Whilst below,
Men bite each other in half
In a kind of macabre joke.
