Empty Head Poem by Ojedokun Olajide

Empty Head

I knew of a boy and a pupil he was
Who sat in the class while the teacher taught
And arithmetic it was that the teacher taught
So after teaching, the teacher asked if it was understood
The boy together with the class answered, Yes, we do

Then, the teacher gave the class some sums to do
So this boy sat with it for over an hour
But it was very sad that this boy failed woefully
Though the teacher asked, "do you understood".
And the boy said, Yes, I do

When it was time to play
The boy played so much
And when it was time to eat
He ate like a glutton
And whenever the teacher asked, "Do you understand"
The boy answered, Yes I do.
