Expecting The Worst Poem by Randy McClave

Expecting The Worst

Some women will seek a happily ever after
With a devout man and not ever a master,
In a relationship where he is not untrustworthy or shady
Where she is met with love and treated like a lady.
She wants to be treated as a queen
Not to be treated like trash or ever treated obscene,
She is seeking a man to show off and to brag
And most definitely she doesn't want to treated like a punching bag.
She doesn't think that she deserves the very best
As she has been treated bad by all the rest,
And when a man comes around to treat her good
She then wonders to herself, why he really should.
She will always run back to the man who treats her bad
In her belief he is the only one that should be glad,
And when in life they both come forward from thirst
He should be the one she believes to always drink first.
Some women will always say that they, "love you"
Even if and when they are beaten black and blue,
Even when they are mocked or humiliated or even disgraced
They believe that they can be easily replaced.
Some women sadly don't see or know of their own worth
There is more to their life than just giving birth,
Some women sadly are prepared to be hurt and to be bruised
And there are some women who always expect to be abused.
