Fallen Angel Poem by Shadow Kiss

Fallen Angel

Rating: 3.5

I thought she was an angel
Her gorgeous wings were so strong
I thought we had an everlasting friendship
Instead everything went wrong

It started out with laughter and fun
Soon friendly competition was all about who won
As one felt angry the other shunned the tension slowly began to grow
finally it was she who decided to blow

she exclaimed she had enough
holding back tears I tried to be tough
watching the halo around her head fade
I realized a silence
Beginning to be made

I’m trying to let go
And let her fly
away
But still I feel trapped
And I think I still love her
That is, until
Today

When I told her
I don’t understand
So I don’t deserve to be you friend
My eyes clearly reflecting the image that this was the end

She only stared
And I knew I was right
Though we once were
Now we weren’t tight

We had once held each other
Through boys and “foes”
Danced with each other
In sun and/or snow

Still as the rain pours
I let go of pity greed sorrow remorse and anger
And let myself have one clear thought
Because pain is no stranger
I give myself up to love and life
Knowing that this will hurt but it is right
And I know now that we are not and never will be friends forevermore
