An orange sea tortoise slips from terra firma.
Stretching luxuriously over the mid-west
Systematic.
A yellow chick out of egg morning
Renewing a threadbare spirit
Coarse against new morning’s fragile air
Daybreak signals another chance
Bleeds easy into a daisy dotted afternoon
Easier to drift on consideration and possibility
Now that the orange morning orb pales to yellow
Let’s bake in plastic lawn chairs. Melting
Seasick book knowledge and real life dramas
As flower pollen energy wafts easily
Until the crisp wind of an evening chill
Signals quiet maturity.
Only in the wake of a slowly setting sun.
