Forbidden Love Poem by Lala Singer

Forbidden Love

What we have is forbidden
a love so strong it put Hercules to shame
but a love that must forever remain hidden
because in the eyes of the public we are not the same
everywhere we go we receive side glances
and are subject to harsh reprimands
no one will ever willingly give us a chance
they'd rather ignore us and our pitiful demands
in our hearts we're colorblind
but that doesn't mean the lines have been erased
so now we look for the place that we cannot find
the place where hate cannot be traced
so we walk the burning sands together
take my hand, an we'll make it through
just believe in our forbidden love forever
and we can take on the world...ME & YOU
