Forsaken Talent Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Forsaken Talent

Signals of talent show themselves at very young ages
in many different ways.

If parents were open to the spirit, they'd see these
wonderful gifts from God, chosen for their own child.

Yet, being blind, children's gifts are forsaken for
parents, drinking, drug habits or their emotional
immaturity and baggage of long ago.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Sometimes parents lose their ways and their children are then lost. Once in a while a child will find their inner strength and rise above it all, finding their innate gifts and using them for their own good.
