Forty Pleasant Quatrains Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Pleasant Quatrains

4. It is cherishing to have sons who refuse not
to do the acts bidden. It is interesting to learn daily
without committing errors. It is a joy to do farm work
by owning bulls. Lovely it is to have friends going together.

5. It is fine to have an army of elephants for a king.
It is fair not to build one's body by eating the food of others.
To live in a town on the bank of a stream is enjoyable.
The ideals of a man of honour are rejoicing.

6. It is very amiable to kill not other lives. It is affable
for a king to praise his servants, being impartial.
It is charming for a king to hold the sceptre.
It is quite nice to refrain from blaming others
