Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [15- 17] Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Forty Quatrains On Battlefield [15- 17]

15.In the war fought by the wrathful Chozhan Chenganan,
His furious elephants smashed the umbrellas of the foes in the field.
Wherever the tuskers forced their way, there were corpses scattered,
like the tools straggled in the workshop of the carpenter.

16.In the battlefield, where Chozhan Chenganan, the owner
of the Kaveri riparian land, fought, the excited and tumultuous steeds with strong shins, sprang up and hit the foreheads of the elephants
fearless, like the humongous tigers bouncing in the hills.

17.Chozhan Chenganan of the Kaveri river soaking fertile land,
with his flag and army, made an uproar and slaughtered the foes
in the battlefield. When his soldiers hurled the arms against the foes, the blood spurting out from them seemed like
the lit up lamps in Karthigai festival.
