You just can't change,
What does not want to change,
I've given up,
Trying to make things right,
When they've never been,
When they never will be,
Totally right,
Now, I just close my eyes,
Go into Space,
And write.
At first, I thought this poem was similar to the crisis in AWAY WE GO, but it most definitely is not. In the opening you sketch the sorry conditions of the world, you are sickened by these multiple problems and seek the relief of TEMPORARY withdrawal to renew your spirits and recharge your energy. So it is a time for personal poetry, that engages with life on the individual level of family and friendship, of pleasures and pastimes, love and desire. After all, we struggle to create a better world and a bigger space in which good people can enjoy these positive things of the heart.
