Golden Love Poem by nadia abduljabbar

Golden Love

Give all the gold
Of the world
To her,
And give me LOVE
Instead;
Love that dives in,
Love with no fear,
Free from guilt,
The kind of love I deserve
The one that God will
Accept,
Why is this?
Because you could
Bribe the guards
Of my heart,
Broke the keys,
And got in,
Without permission,
Without discussion,
You are simply in,
Was it that seductive
Tone?
Or was it your tenderness,
How and why I really don’t know!

Love for me,
Is far more precious
Than any expensive
Metal or rare
Stone,
Money is a means,
But love
Is a target
By itself,
It does exceed
All,
The kind of love
I give,
I need,
Is far from jealousy,
Or selfishness,
No obligation,
No documentation
Such love needs
Or asks for,
Only a word of honour
Is enough,
After you rebel
Against the things
That tie you from within,

You can lie,
But I believe
You will not
I advise you not,
If you want
Real happiness
With me.
Before that
I cannot accept
A gaze that touches
The eye, the heart,
And transforms
Things from within.

I tried to resist,
I ignored the hints;
They made me furious,
I hated you for your
Persistence;
For not giving up on me,
But all of a sudden,
Something happened…
A voice in my head
Said:
“Give the man
A chance,
You might not regret it”,
If you are my destiny,
Let it be,
If you are whom
God chose for me,
Let it be,
I found out
I cannot beat
My fate,
So I whole heartedly
Join my destiny,
Within the basics
He permits me,
Not only out of fear,
But out of awe,
And will,
I am not a hypocrite,
I don’t say things,
And do their opposite;
I cannot sin
I do not want to sin
I dare not to challenge Him
He was with me
In my chosen road,
And in the one
Forced upon me,
He protected me,
He helped me.

Life is too short,
To be wasted
In roundabout ways,
The shortest path
Is the straight one,
So be frank,
And throw your shyness
Away,
Purity of intension
Will help us,
And I could convince
My poor self
To accept the small portion
Of happiness,
That life throws to me.

If you deny,
Or even lie,
All men lie,
When they withdraw,
Or change their minds.
If I am blunt,
If I blunder,
If I am mistaken,
Then forgive and forget,
But please, stop your gazing,
It turns me into a woman,
It does so do;
It kills the child in me,
Do you think
I am an idealist?
Can you reach? !
