Even today my heart is filled to capacity like a gusseted bag of candy
With her sweet treats of sugary confection and patented tender kisses
She bestowed upon me the great honor of becoming her husband
Some three decades ago while I was still a young man of promise
Little did she know that I would be such a disappointing failure to myself
As success has eluded me in every aspect of my life except for love
And yet as with all good things even this marriage will come to an end
Over my dead body….
