Heart Of A Lonely Man Poem by Leon Crooks

Heart Of A Lonely Man

I have been waiting, I have been waiting; the man sat on his thoughts.
Have I been dreaming of holding and caressing, reality hit his heart.
Ten years and counting, he has been searching, now he is just a lonely old man.
He is fifty and counting, No more nights crying, the doctor recommend before he departs.
His familiar look, his fingers are crooked, while he opens his broken heart.
He’s eagerly waiting, his imagination is aching, to journey a brand new land.
He has been waiting, no longer aching; his love is in his hand.
He smiles when he is writing, oh what a rejoicing, he is a brand new man.
