Her Tiny Face - Poem by Heather Burns

It was Sunday the day
was cold
she came to my door
as I was told

needed a mother to
take care
like running a brush
through her hair

looking at her tiny face
I asked God give me
grace

help me today is all I ask
make a decision for this
task

my spirit guide showed me
the way
With his advice prepared
the day

as I touched her tiny face
face
I felt God giving me grace

her name is in my family tree
this little girl means the
world to me.

Perhaps one of the few noblest jobs you have done ie, to stand by the distressed who need a hand...... I bow to you Heather...... May the wisdom be with you........ just great. (Report) Reply

This is perhaps one of the best deeds, a person can do in a lifetime. By accepting that orphaned little one as part of your family and being a mother to her, you have given purpose and meaning to her life.

    this little girl means the
    world to me.

This speaks volumes..... Heather, now I look upon you with greater respect! ! (Report) Reply
